The Bedale and Beaufort were introduced in the 1970s by Dame Margret Barbour and continue to contribute to Barbour's success today. The Bedale is truly an iconic jacket for Barbour. The Bedale is slightly sportier than the Beaufort and features elasticated cuffs to keep out the wind. Furthermore, the Bedale is equipped with two patch pockets and two slit pockets. The Bedale is neatly finished with a corduroy collar. Naturally, the Bedale is provided with a durable wax layer to protect you from the elements. The Bedale is not washable, but it can be cleaned with a sponge. Every waxed jacket needs a new layer of wax occasionally. You can apply this yourself with Barbour's "Thornproof Dressing."
